Valletta bus station terminal

photo: The busy bus station in Valletta

Just outside the walled city of Valletta is the main bus station. If you intend to cover as much of the island as possible by bus during your Malta holiday you will surely visit this bus station many times. The station is dominated in the centre by the Triton fountain designed in 1959 by Maltese sculpture Vincent Apap.

From Valletta bus station you can catch buses to all of Malta's major towns and villages. The bus terminal area is slightly chaotic but fairly easy to navigate - even for the first time visitor. Souvenir and junk food hawkers line the station selling the usual tourist fare. A short walk away is Valletta's main shopping area and tourist information.
