Set in Anchor Bay just down the road from Mellieha is Popeye Village or Sweethaven Village. The collection of ramshackle buildings houses a funpark and the film set from the 1980 film 'Popeye' starring Robin Williams.
The Popeye Village funpark is a good way to occupy the kids for a few hours with dodgem cars, puppet and animation shows, a splash pool, cinema and Santa's Toy Town, where it's Christmas every day.
The larger Anchor Bay area offers an opportunity for some stunning holiday snaps. A boat from Popeye Village leaves every hour for a 20 minute sightseeing tour around the bay.
