Boat hire/rental in Malta

photo: Boats in calm water off the coast of Qawra

The beautiful natural harbours, bays and hidden coves and caves offer numerous places to explore and the best way to do this is by boat. Sure, there are many boat trips, tours and excursions to enjoy, but for those wanting privacy and a say on their itinerary, hiring your own boat can give you the opportunity to explore areas off the tourist trail - and you can cover a lot more ground.

Private yacht charter is possible in and around Malta although it won't come cheap. If you're travelling in a group and you want to explore the open seas a crewed yacht can be hired for 400-500 a day. There are plenty of yacht charter companies in Malta so shop around for the best rates.

Power boats can be hired in Malta and are much better for discovering those hidden gems of the Malta coastline. Fishing trips can also be arranged where game fishing is a popular choice. Blue Fin Tuna, Swordfish, Albacore, Dorado, Snapper, Grouper, Bonito, Amberjack and more can all be caught in the waters around the Maltese islands.
