Exclusive restaurants in Malta

Many people have visited this site looking for somewhere to eat out in Malta. There are so many restaurants, cafes and eateries to choose from that finding a place to eat can be a bewildering experience. Below are some of the most exclusive and, dare I say, romantic locations to dine on the island. More restaurants and their websites will be added regularly so make sure to check back here at MaltaLinks.co.uk.

St. Julians

Blue elephant – A romantic ambience and the best in Royal Thai Cuisine. The Blue Elephant restaurant in Malta ‘can cater for a variety of occasions such as:  Intimate Dining, Private Parties, Wedding Parties, Conference Dinners and many others…’ and was awarded ‘Most romantic restaurant’ in 2004 and 2005.

Peppino's – Offering commanding views across Spinola bay, this Italian restaurant is described asan excellent meeting place with a warm welcoming and friendly atmosphere which encourages conversation among friends and visitors alike’. You can dine in the wine bar downstairs or the more formal restaurant upstairs and the menu offers a wide variety of Italian dishes. Specialities of the house include Tagliatelle All Vittorio with artichokes, shrimps, spinach and fresh cream; and home made salmon ravioli.

The Casino Brasserie at Portomaso – One of Malta’s most exclusive venues, the Casino Brasserie serves up a Mediterranean menu with special attention paid to fresh fish and ingredients. Diners can also enjoy cabaret acts in the chic surroundings. Guests must show proof of age on entry (Malta residents must be 25 to enter while non residents must be over 18).

Mdina

The Medina - The Medina Restaurant’s promise to the customer is ‘Quality cuisine in unique surroundings, with exceptional service’ - and this old Norman residence, hidden among the ancient walled city of Mdina, certainly provides an unusual and intimate dining experience. The menu is modern Mediterranean with a focus on presentation and attention to detail. The charm of the surrounding streets provides a perfect setting for a romantic after dinner walk.

Valetta

The Phoenix – Located in the five-star Hotel Phoenicia in Valetta, a variety of local dishes are served up in sumptuous surroundings. A lavish breakfast buffet includes the traditional cooked breakfast, fresh fruit and the best teas, warm cakes and croissants, while diners can choose from the A La Carte menu at dinner. For something a little more casual try the Pool Bar or the Pegasus Brasserie.
